I can hear the echoes of this question reverberating, as it is asked over and over again by so many who have fallen for the mantra, the new dogma of pop spirituality. as I also like to call it:
"Think positive, do a bit of visualisation, put a picture of your dream on the wall and hey presto, it becomes reality." Sounds great, doesn't it? Yet, I wonder how many of you have made their fortune, attracted the perfect relationship, found the most wonderfully fulfilling career or created health just like that? I am still searching for that person.
In my life I have met many successful people and gurus from different works of life. I have met people who are at the top in the spiritual world, the field of personal development and in business. One thing I can tell you: They all have had their challenges somewhere along the line.
In my mind it is downright dangerous to go round proclaiming that you can be eternally happy simply by putting up a vision board and saying your daily positive mantra.
Easy does it, you can change your entire life within a few hours, minutes even. Use EFT, even Neuro linguistic programming is now at your fingertips, all you have to do is buy the book and read it in your sleep. And I just hope that you are fully and completely congruent on all levels of your consciousness..., otherwise you may be in for a nasty surprise or too. But nobody bothers with the small print.
People who fall into this trap of delusory promised land may get enticed to spend their hard earned money today on the promise of making a fortune tomorrow just by hanging up a fifty dollar note in their bathroom and wishing for a fortune. The disappointment will be huge when the expected fortune does not arrive in time to pay the monthly credit card bill.
Okay, we all want to believe that our lives are going to improve, we want to be positive and hopeful. That is all well and good. Alas, for starters, hope is definitely not a strategy. It is rather like buying the ingredients for a cake switching on the oven and hoping that the cake will magically appear when you walk into the kitchen next time round.
The mind is a manipulator. It will fool you to think that your newfound wonder drug will work. There may even be small signs, that the positive thinking mantra is already working. After all you just won $ 100.00 in the lottery, didn't you? Of course, if you are congruent you will be on the up and up from now on. Alas, for the overwhelming majority of us it is not that simple. We need to do a proper clear out of the mental attic, and that takes time, because most of us cannot cope with gargantuan, swift change all in one go. It would send us nuts, as we feel that we have lost our identity over night, as we turned into this new person, a total stranger.
Success in anything comes from doing the right things in the right order persistently. Persistently successful people know that they have to follow universal laws. There is freedom within those laws, sure, but no matter how clever you are, there are still laws. You must know these laws and internalise them and make them totally your own. You must use them by automatic pilot, always, in all circumstances. When you do this you will be successful.
You will also learn along the way and grow in cognitive awareness if you are doing the right exercises, read the right books and attend the right workshops. This means that you are then able to give fresh interpretations to old laws and see things in a new light. Your room to manoeuvre will increase. However, the laws are still there, just the way you use them will change and advance.
As you change and advance you will vibrate on a higher energetic level. This is what personal development is all about. Clearing the energy pipes of old debris, like subconscious negative thinking etc. It is about learning to control your emotions and thoughts and change them at will.
Yes, It definitely can be done. The rewards are abundance and the life you desire, simply because you are speeding up coincidences that lead to the outcomes you desire. But first you need to learn how to clear the energy channels and above all keep them that way, because real success in anything you do comes from maintaining the mental attitude and habits that bring abundance and success. |
