Is the Credit Crunch Even Affecting Google's Holidays?

As we all know the credit crunch has affected each and every one of us, it has brought on thousands of redundancies not to mention hundreds of companies being put into liquidation.

But internet search giants Google have come out of it much better than a lot of companies, but that is not to say that they have not felt the pinch a little. No matter how big a company is it does not stop it being affected by a global financial crisis. I in fact in all honestly do not expect Google to struggle for one of two reasons. The first being that they are giving something unique to the world, they deserve to be rewarded for all the free and useful sites they have given us such as Google and YouTube not to mention many more and the second is that they are genuinely a great company.

But this year is it looks as though they will be cutting back on their festive holiday celebrations due to the economic situation and I believe this is 100% correct to do and yet again they are thinking about their users. The reason I say this is simply because everyday in the news we see company directors splashing out on extravagant hotels and holiday meetings, while they get bailed out by the government. I actually think what Google is doing is extraordinary because obviously they have the financial funds to throw a huge party, but it of course is much better to keep it on the low, so they do not upset people that are struggling.

Google are very well known for throwing the best holiday events, last year a crowd of around 10,000 people turned up around the Google headquarters to celebrate the occasion, with parties that involved sculptures of the company's logo, virtual reality video game stations, buffets and burlesque dancers, not to mention much more.

It is said that this year the company will instead be performing team activities such as volunteering for social activities such as museum visits and dinner parties.

There you have it, and this article is really for all the companies that are struggling but still splashing out on luxuries that really cannot be afforded, why not take Google's example and cut back on unnecessary spending? I am certain that if every company in the world took this approach then we could save millions of pounds that could effectively be put back into the economy.
