Winter is such a magical season with a huge amount of events happening such as Halloween, Bonfire night, New Years and not to forget Christmas. But do they really feel magical or do you just feel like you would rather hibernate in your blanket until spring arrives?
Yes, winters in the UK are getting much colder and although we have these great events constantly happening, it's as though people just cannot be bothered to go out anywhere or do anything. I believe this is the main reason why television channels broadcast the best shows in the winter; it is simply because they know they will get the best possible viewing from these people.
But putting all this aside I think the hardest part of winter is waking up in the mornings to go to work or take the kids to school. There is nothing better in the summer than the feeling of opening your eyes and hearing the birds sing and the sun shining on your face. But the winter is totally the opposite you open your eyes to hear wind and rain, not to mention a pitch black sky that just makes you fall back to sleep.
Therefore I have devised a few solutions that will help you with getting out of bed, during the cold nights.
Keep the Heat up
This is a very important factor and an aspect that a lot of people overlook. If you are one of these people that switch the heating off before going to bed then you will probably never wake up refreshed, because you will be freezing cold. What you should in fact do is set a timer so a few hours before you actually wake up, the room will be warm.
Close Curtains or Blinds
A lot of people wake up and their beds are right opposite a window; there is nothing worse then waking up and looking out into a cold dark and rainy night. Therefore you should close your blinds and windows and keep this as a surprise; you never know the sun maybe shining when you get outside.
Have a Soak
Get up that little bit earlier and have a nice soak in the bath, what is better then waking up and looking forward to a nice relaxing stress free bath.
Have a Hot Drink
Prepare yourself a hot drink so that you can warm up your whole body. Even if it is freezing cold outside, there is no need to worry as you will make yourself warm from the inside.
