I just saw a great TV segment on a morning news show that had three women talking about how women can come together to help each other fix their problems.
In essence they were talking about what Napoleon Hill called a mastermind. A mastermind according to Hill was used by all the rich men that he interviewed. A mastermind succeeds on the premise that two or more minds coming together are far stronger than the same number of minds working apart. These minds working in unison form a super mind that transcends space and time to help all in the mastermind group do better than they could individually.
The women were experts in the field of relationships and stressed the need to have one of the women be a ringleader that could help provide leadership and guidance. The leader could help settle difference in opinion that might arise among the members of the group and then hold the members accountable for their actions.
There were interesting questions that arose like what should happen when a member keeps complaining about the same problem meeting after meeting? What should the women reveal about their love life? How much is too much?
If you're surprised or dismayed that these women would seek help outside of their marriage, think again. My research has shown this not to be out of the ordinary.
Let's face it: there are times when women want to share their feelings with their husbands and boyfriends and the guys just won't share! They may want to talk about serious issues and other times they just want to let off some steam. Whether it's at work, at home or at play, today's mom works extremely hard to make sure it all goes right. When she finally gets home after an hour-long commute, she sees her husband and decides to spill her guts to him about your long, hard day.
She tells him everything: how her boss is ridiculously demanding; how her commute took two hours; how her hair needs to be cut; or just how bad her nails look.
Nine times out of ten the pats her on the back, kisses her on the cheek and innocently asks, "What's for dinner, hon?"
Exasperated, she asks herself, "Why'd he say that? Is that all he's got to say? He's got to offer something better than that!"
While you know how to emote, guys are experts in the re-mote!
All jokes aside, I think it's obvious why women need to keep the lines of healthy communication open with both men and women.
