No Internet home business or any Internet business for that matter can survive and beat the level of competition typical these days without creating and using their own video product. Video products are easier to sell than other informative products like books and audio tapes because they're attractive to all types of learners.

It's also commonly easier to learn from video products since you obtain the benefit of seeing, hearing, and even reading the information you need.

Things to Remember When You Create Your Own Video Product

Topic There's a popular saying that advises writers to always write about what they know. Writing something that's part of your stock knowledge is best but you can also write about other things you don't know by researching about it and writing it in the perspective you're most comfortable with.

The same rule applies to creating video products. Don't film what you don't know. Don't think your viewers are stupid enough to be fooled they aren't and never will be.

Format People generally prefer video products over other methods of relaying information because they're easier on the mind. Video products don't require you to read long, technical paragraphs. Instead, they go direct to the point and show you what you need to see.

Thus, when creating the format of your own video product, always keep in mind that your viewers are looking for something quick, easy, but information-packed!

Label If books have chapter titles and page numbers for easy referencing, your videos should also be made more user-friendly by labeling every scene. That way, viewers watching your video for the second or third time won't have to go through the whole thing all over again. The labels will let them determine which scene it is they wish to view again and then they can skip to it afterwards.

Secondly, take your time to create a title for your video. Rule #1 in Internet marketing is to use important keywords in your title. Then make it sound brief, catchy, and direct to the point. Just one mention of it and the viewer should immediately know why he'd want to watch the video. Ultimately, the title must be both informative and persuasive.

Timing Don't spend too much explaining. Focus on showing or presenting instead. If there's no avoiding a long and detailed explanation, make sure that you don't just speak it but provide textual data for the viewer to read and note down.

Speak slowly and clearly. If possible, use one second intervals between scenes to mark important change of subjects. This will also make it easier for your viewers to determine where they wish to start watching the video next time. It's also easier to rewind pause and play when transition is smooth but not too fast.
Techniques.

Whatever your topic is, make sure to explain it in a variety of techniques so as not to bore your reader. Besides using a narrator, you should also consider using animated presentations, role-playing dramas, and so forth to retain your viewers attention from start till end.

Entertainment Value Of course, make it fun! Contrary to popular opinion, making a fun video doesn't necessarily mean you have to flout traditional and conventional methods. You could do that, too, but you don't have to. Having fun simply means showing your viewers how, why, and what they could enjoy from the video.

Equipment and Software, It's better these days to use a digital camcorder because this allows you to immediately transfer your video from the recorder to your computer. Speaking of computers, make sure you're using one of the latest models because editing a video can take up much of your computer's virtual memory.

Try looking for a video non-linear editing software program you could use for editing your work. Look for audio files to add as background music and other sound effects to your video (you may need a headset with microphone for this).

Internet Marketing Tips for Launching Your Video Product

Tip #1 Upload excerpts or teasers at You Tube to whet the public's appetite.
Tip #2 Post about it in your blog, forums, and wherever else you can make announcements about it.
Tip #3 Always, always create buzz for it by holding promotional gigs or offering other incentives.
