In a billiard hall, sometimes there is enough room around the tables to play properly, but often there is not. Some places place the tables so close together that if someone else is playing at an adjacent billiard pool table, then the two people bump into each other.
This is very inconvenient, but it is still possible to play that way. Proper billiard lighting is also an important aspect for the billiards room and most upscale bars and billiard club venues do provide good, over-the-table billiard lights.
The usual decoration for a billiard room is pub style. A lot of bars use that style, but other styles are used as well depending on the location. People like the pup style because it gives a hunting lodge feel to the building. Dark colors are usually used, with a lot of dark wood and leather.

The style of each billiard hall can really change what kind of people go there to play.
