America's First Black President?

Today's Presidential elections will ultimately prove that the United States of America will have for the very first time a black man as President and history is being made.

There really has not been much of a debate as to who the favorite is. It seems that America is ready for a breath of fresh air and a new type of leader in its making. And I'm not speaking about the fact that he is black. That should NOT be the reason why he is elected for President (although I am sure that Obama appreciates votes coming from that reason or for any other).

Obama is a natural born leader. They have compared him to Kennedy and for me he reminds me of Abraham Lincoln. A former President who was driven for a good cause, to abolish slavery and was determined to change things for the better. I don't think that Obama is any different.

It's not that I don't think John McCain doesn't want change; he just comes across off as being the slow and stable type and the lets-not-make-too-many-changes-too-fast scenario to ensure that nothing gets ruffled up too quickly. He lacks the courage and the grit to stand up, and more importantly, he lacks the conviction to carry it through and ultimately it will show in the poles today.

Obama, advocates change because it's time for a change, a quantum change for the future and for the future of America if they want to see it come out of war, struggle and economic strife to a more balanced and efficient country.

He has was I have failed to see in the other candidates and that is passion. His passion comes shining through, and it's not just a blind belief, but belief backed with a passion about fundamental changes he sees for the future of America.

If nothing else, this election heralds the end of the Bush campaign of war, destruction and death. Eight years of such negativity can finally come to a close. Bush wanted war and that's exactly what America got. Whether it's Obama or McCain, at least they both agree that war is out: one because he feels its wrong, the other because he feels the war has been won.

The big challenge ahead for Obama of course is the economic crisis that the country is in. With very little or no money to spend, a certain depression era age forthcoming due to the country's sub prime lending disaster, it's not going to be easy and any policy her enforces after he is elected President will take many years to see results. It's the nature of the beast, but at least he will be moving things forward and in the right direction.

So now that all the bickering, slandering, jostling for center stage and endless commentaries as to who is going to win the election - sit back and watch your TV tonight and watch history in the making. The symbol and epoch for change - Barack Obama, the next President of the United States of America.
