When you go into a cave, it might have water coming out of its walls, and it can be very dark in there. You can see some amazing things in there that will amaze you. You can end up in a different place, like further in the woods that you have not been before or in the part of the woods that you have been and are familiar with. Sometimes cave may not have another way out of them. They might only have one entrance, which is also the exit. You need to watch your step because there can be holes that drip a long way down, or they can have no bottom, which is called a bottomless pit. Some may be under waterfalls or have a river or creek in it. Although it is beautiful to see, it is dangerous for you to be in or go in, so don't go in without someone that knows about it and have them take you in it.
If you are lost or stuck in the rain, it is a good place to stay warm and to spend the night in or until it clears up and is safe to go back out in. It also is good for when it is snowing out and it is too cold. It is a good place to keep you warm so you can get back to where you live or to the next town. But make sure that there are not animals living in there because they will not like you in their home, and they will attack you. If it does not have an animal in it, then you can stay in it and build a fire to stay warm and to see at night so nothing will come up on you.
This way, you will stay dry and stay away from the dangerous animals that can be around that area. Watch out for the bugs in there because they can be poisonous, which can be very deadly to you. Make sure you clear that area of the debris and make sure it is dry enough for a fire to be made. Also, don't put the fire under an area that has water dripping from it because it will put it out. If you are exploring a cave, be sure to have a map of it so you don't get lost in it and make sure you don't go too far in because there can be a cave in.
