5 Ways in Which People Mess up Their Computer Systems

I am forever having to visit family and friends to fix their systems, that they have some how managed to break. A lot of computer users do not know how to do much except for switch it on and maybe use Word or the Internet. So let's take a look at some of the common mistakes people may make when shutting down their systems.

First and foremost one of the main problems that causes a system to crash is the fact that people are not shutting down their systems properly. Do you switch your computer off by the power button or the plug sockets? If so this is a very bad thing to do, you should always practice safe shutting down of your system. You should click on the start button and then shutdown this way.

Secondly a lot of system errors are also caused by incorrect installation of software, everybody loves to download music, games and other little nifty programs, but do you really know what you are downloading? These programs could contain various different forms of malware and spyware, so you have to have the correct protection in place before downloading anything like this.

Thirdly, if you connect to the internet, windows will periodically download updates so that you can protect your system. A lot of people do not install these updates they just leave them sitting around. So what I recommend is whenever you see your system downloading an update, you should not hesitate to install it as these are there for a reason, to protect you.

The fourth tip is that, I also have seen a lot of people complain that antivirus makes their system run slow, so what do they do? Uninstall it! How much slower do you think that your system will run if you get a virus or constant spyware and malware? You should always keep your antivirus software active and download updates whenever they are available. If your computer is running very slow then you may want to consider adding some more RAM.

Finally for the fifth tip, to keep yourself safe in the long run, you should not open any emails or attachments that people you do not know send you. Although you may have anti virus and spyware protection in place, they may have not yet recognised this new virus and you could potentially be letting a big a tin of worms into your system.
