Paralegals carry out work in wide variety of areas of human endeavor - from law firms to government offices, from trade unions to the armed forces, construction companies, accounting and engineering firms – in actuality, anywhere that law-related work is carried out, paralegals will almost positively be employed.

Paralegals working in the private sector are regularly employed by law firms and corporations. Alright technical knowledge is also a must, as the use of computers, software packages and databases have become fundamental to the storage and organization of legal documents. A Paralegal may be called upon to organize information in databases, use software to track time billed to clients, or use software packages to compute financial information. A fine paralegal will also be decorous, professional, and discreet, and have high ethical standards.
