These days sending flowers can be as easy as...well, pie. The intent to brighten up someone's day is and always has been the same. But now we can order flowers and have them sent to our destination with so much ease and convenience that some dangers are often overlooked. Ordering flowers online is very "today" but you still have to be aware of the security and personal information safety risks that come with the territory. Not only that but you might order flowers that are far less attractive than the picture online.
So many florists have their own websites now and they would have you believe that they are a locally centered shop. The reality is that, you could be ordering flowers online in New York but the flowers are being sent from a small local shop around the corner from your house.
Here is a flowers sending tip for you. When you visit the flower sending websites, you should always close the webpage and then go back to it. Why, you ask? Because in many cases, the price will be cheaper. I guess it's their way of luring you in and if I hadn't found out this little piece of golden information, I would still be paying premium price for the same flowers. Try it anyway.
Sending flowers via the internet is a quick hassle free way of making someone happy. But when doing so, you should take a look a the flower website page a little closer. Do you see a privacy page link somewhere on the website? There should be one. Don't be fooled and don't be scammed. Don't let them sell your email address. Make sure to read the privacy policy.
What about their customer satisfaction policy? You should make sure that you still have the right to a refund if the flowers are less than attractive or at a minimum, they should give you the benefit of an exchange.
There are literally millions of flower sending websites online today. Take a look at google, type in ( Sending Flowers) and you'll see just how many flower websites there are. If you type in ( Flowers ) you'll get even more results. This is important because out of the millions of websites out there, there are some who do shady business...but most, I assume, are doing business with the future in mind..not a quick buck.
When you order your flowers, its usually through a flower network call center. Your order is taken, the correct websites store is given credit for the sale and then your order is shipped off to you from "flower-land". Now, flower-land is going to send your your flowers at about half the price you paid for them...obviously you can see what's going on here, you just paid double for your flowers.
But sometimes paying double for flower isn't so bad. Its ultra convenient and hassle free and you can do it your pajamas. If you're like me, and you have relatives that live too far for personal flower delivery, paying double for flowers is A-OK. No problem at all. In fact, if I was to personally deliver flowers to my mother on mothers day, it would cost me somewhere in the vicinity of $2500...so paying an extra 20,30,40, or 50 dollars for those same flowers isn't a big deal.
I do send my mother flowers from far away and I do use my credit card. I've never had a problem and my mother has always said the flowers are beautiful. So, I always use the same flower website that I've been using sing the first time. Why change! They've always been on time and I've never had any problems or complaints with them.
Once you've found an online flower company that you want to order with, you should bookmark the website so you can get back to it easily...don't try to remember it. On the order page, the thing that is the most import and I stress...the most important is to check for the little "lock" that should be somewhere on your browser. So that means that you need to check before entering any personal data...period! Do not order from that page if you don't find a lock. The lock means that it is safe to place personal information on that page...and that page only. Once you've moved away from that page, most likely the lock will disappear. Its not important on other pages anyway.
So, that's my advice about ordering flowers. Just use those tips and you'll be fine.
