While these contraptions are versatile and can do many different jobs, you can't add spindles to one that already exists. Some use carbide technology to produce a higher quality, safer, and more efficient piece of equipment. Some who work with these prefer not to use carbide technology because they simply aren't used to using them, lack of tooling to hold the inserts correctly, or the fact that the spindles need to run at certain speeds that some carbide products cannot offer. Many carbide products offered have not been manipulated to correctly fit single or multi types. Most will optimize power specifically determined by what the end product will be.
