Blogging is an art, which has to be perfected before you will attract a loyal user base. Not everyone can succeed in the blogging world, but keeping a few of the tips in mind below will help you along your way.
One of the most important facts that people forget when starting a blog, is to write about what you know. A lot of people just decide to get into the most rewarding industry, but that is absolutely the wrong way to go about it, becoming an expert in your niche does not happen overnight, you will have to constantly provide excellent written and unique content. Writing about something you do not have a clue about will not get you far, because in fact you will not be speaking from experience, so you are likely to look at other blogs and reword what they have already written.
Another aspect that can be potentially harmful to your blog is not staying on topic. Let's just say for example that your blog was about vegetables and then you started blogging about cars, it would be somewhat of an awkward situation for your readers. Even the loyal ones may lose trust in you and decide to read elsewhere.
Some people are obsessed with the speed of things, that they forget quality. I have seen certain occasions where writers want to upload 5-10 blogs a day, which when uploaded are very difficult to read and understand, and in all honesty they have no purpose. I would rather read one short post on a daily basis that actually gave me some good informative information, rather then reading 10 posts of absolute rubbish.
Although speed is not essential, you should at least try to post every other day, this way it will not only keep your users coming back on a regular basis, but it will also attract the search engine spiders to crawl you more often.
You should also make sure that you spell check your posts before publishing them, this will not take a minute of your time and will make you look incredibly professional. There's nothing worse than visiting a blog to find that it is riddled with grammatical errors.
Blogging must be taken seriously if you want to succeed; giving readers useful information day in and day out, will see them coming back again and again, not to mention the rewards of a successful blog can amazing.
