Are Excessive Traits Controlling Your Life

Have you ever been in a bar or club? What are the first things you see? You see people from all walks of life and all races doing all the same things. They are all smoking or drinking. They all have come to this place to either unwind after a long day at work or to hide from their significant partner, whether it is a boy or girlfriend or a spouse.

Some go to meet old friends or new people. Some go to just get drunk because they think that this will make their worries and problems go away. Some people will just over eat thinking that this is a way to make other people leave them alone. Some people just try to sleep their problems away.

These are called excessive traits. If the problems keep piling up, you will keep doing more excessive things, like smoking. Smoking is one of the worst in this category. For example, the bigger and more stressful the problem is, chances are you will smoke more. You might have started out smoking for relaxation and calming purposes, but once you start or the longer you smoke, the harder it is to stop.

Our cigarette companies don't want to lose you as a buyer of their products, so they keep changing their packaging, sizes, flavors and brands. They really don't have to tell you that these cigarettes are the number one cause of heart disease, lung cancer, and other coronary artery problems. These companies are required by law to put a warning on the side of every carton, warning consumers of the health risks associated with smoking cigarettes. You think that you get enjoyment from smoking, but all you end up with is shortness of breath, coughing spells, and other problems.

Our kids usually start smoking because of peer pressure. Other kids will pressure your children to smoke or drink by telling them that it's cool. If they just want to hang around their friends, they will do it just to fit in. Sometimes this could lead your child to do things they usually don't do. Most of the time, they can be talked into doing these things, and it can lead them to do drugs, which will get them in trouble with the law.

If your problems get too hard to deal with, don't try to fix them yourself or turn to other things. Try to go and find a psychiatrist. They can help you learn to deal with your problems and maybe even help you stop these excessive traits. Just try to stop.
