In todays busy, busy world, there is hardly a free moment to just sit back and relax. You get up in the morning, commute to work, do paperwork for 8 hours, get stuck in rush hour traffic on your way home, and have just enough time to make a quick meal before heading off to bed. It's even more hectic when you have children who need lunches packed and a ride to school. Often times, marriages suffer and love is put on the back burner.
It is very important to maintain an intimate relationship with your significant other, and that doesn't mean you should have sex every night. Although that in itself is not a bad idea, being intimate with one another does not only apply to having sex. Maintaining that special intimacy with one another can be done with a hug, a random kiss, a little note, or a quick phone call. If you feel that your marriage is going through a rough patch and needs some TLC, then read on for some tips to fire up your love life.
When schedules get busy, tempers run short and anger can flare at any given moment. If you feel you are about to blow a fuse because you are having a rough day, take a quick 5-minute break. Spare some time to collect your thoughts and your nerves. The worst thing you could do is take out your anger on your partner for no apparent reason. This happens more than it should with a lot of marriages. And sadly, when your head is hot, the chances of the D word springing up increase. Divorce.
Laugh more. When packing your partner's lunch, put a little joke in there. Your partner will definitely be surprised and will appreciate the gesture and the quick laugh during lunchtime.
I know I mentioned that sex isn't the only thing you should engage in, but the truth is, it needs to be done! Sex is not only great exercise and a great stress reliever, but it is the closest form of intimacy that can happen between two people. Be creative, try different positions, and be adventurous with your lovemaking. This is your partner you're dealing with, not some random person from the bar. Learn to be comfortable and get ready to explore.
Never, ever, under any circumstances, go to bed angry. Never. Ever. Period. Settle your differences right then and there. Putting off tomorrow what can be solved today can cause grudges.
Last, but certainly not least, give random hugs and kisses. Do it when your partner least expects it. A little touch can go a long way. |
