How much do you really know about the water in your home that you and your family drink, bath in, and cook with? Do you know what chemicals or bacteria it contains? Do you really know how safe it is for ingestion or even coming into contact with? Even water that has supposedly been purified by city water treatment plants are becoming untrustworthy sources that we have been relying on to be safe for consumption and use.

Sometimes the water that is piped into our homes is filled with things that we would not even want to think about being in there, let alone drinking. This is one reason why so many people who have city water are choosing to have additional filters installed in their homes to clean their water further. We need to know what our water contains before we use it. A lot of people are taking it upon themselves to have their water tested just to see exactly what is in it.

People that have wells that provide the water for their homes must have their water tested because it is their responsibility to know the water quality. Well water can change from time to time because of underground and above ground circumstances and this can cause the quality of the water to change. This possible change in water quality is why it should be tested every so often. Those who have wells may choose to use bleach in the wells to keep down bacteria, but it does not really help with other elements in the water that can cause lime scale buildup in the water pipes of the home.

Whole house water filters are becoming very popular for people with wells and city water alike. These filters can cleanse and purify all the water that comes into your home instead of at just a particular faucet like smaller individual filters do. You can rid your entire home of bacteria in your water and other things like iron, lime, and even odors.

Aside from making your water better and healthier to drink, whole house water filters will also help to reduce the hard scale buildup that accumulates in the pipes. Hard scale build up in the pipes can reduce the flow of water in them over time. This buildup can accumulate of your sinks, tubs, showers and their surrounds, and faucets as well. It is really no fun to try and keep all of these surfaces clean. A whole house water filter will eliminate this problem too.
