Sporting a hospital gown has never been high on our fashion to do list, but with the differences in styles that are being offered these days, it can at least be easier for us to wear. Once you were offered one gown, the one size fits all, for all surgeries, examinations, or after care hospital stays. Today, however, you can be fitted to one more suitable for the procedure you have had or are having done.

If you are undergoing surgery, you will most likely wake up in a hospital gown. The main complaint of the gown for the patient and the care providers has been the ease of examining and caring for the patient. If the patient has an incision in the front and the typical gown tied in the back, then the examining of the sutures creates a privacy issue for the patient and more workload for the nurses trying to maneuver the patient in a way to not cause them any discomfort, while trying to do their job.

With a larger line of hospital gowns more suited towards your needs now available, the discomforts for the patient and the health care provider are becoming less stressful.

BH Medwear (a manufacturer and supplier of medical supplies) offers a large line of medical supplies, including a line of hospital gowns that make more sense. From the basic back closure, to the infant gown, they will have what you are looking for.

Each gown is offered with different options for closure, tying, Velcro, and even snaps. Disposable gowns are offered as well as the linen ones.

The toddler gowns are made to be more like a set of pajamas, with pictures of fire trucks or kitten, making the stay at the hospital feel a little more like home to the child. We offer nursing gowns for new mothers, allowing her the privacy to nurse her infant while family stays in the room, no more lifting the gown all the way up exposing more than you would like.

Hospital gowns are now being offered to match the procedure that is being done, with examination gowns opening in the front for gynecological exams. For technicians performing mammograms there are now over the headscarf like gowns that are made for ease of the testing without exposing more than necessary.

The wide range of hospital gowns available today are making the jobs of providers easier and the recovery of the patient less stressful. While you will still not find any of us wearing the gowns for a night out on the town, they have become more efficient in what they are used for.

One size still fits all, but you are given a much better choice between styles. Each department in the hospital, private practice, or clinic can be equipped with gowns that their patients need in return creating a more welcoming environment with the knowledge for the patient that they have been kept in mind for all the details, no matter how small.
