Only last week there was in incident of a toddler strangling himself to death with his parents blinds. The boy was discovered by his mother hanging from his bedroom window. His neck got stuck in the cord of the window blind.
This beckons the question are traditional blinds with cords dangerous to have especially around young kids who always touch and play with such objects. Why settle for old fashioned blinds? Accidental strangulations by blind cords are very common among young children, it is reported that at least 400 children die from window blinds every 5 years with more than 95% going unreported.
